Hope's New Home!

Hope's story doesn't have such documentation as she met her new family at Entlefest in Utah and was adopted into the Jeffery family on 9/5/2001.  Hope is a beautiful girl as everyone saw at Entlefest and in the past few months on-line. She is sweet as can be towards people and children but I was concerned about her being dog aggressive from experiences at my home with my dogs, and had decided she needed to be placed in a home without other dogs and with a stay at home family as she really needs lots of attention. Strangely after Penny was placed, Hope's aggressive behavior came to a halt... Guess she was being protective of her little sister ...

Jan Vincent had invited the Jeffery family over during Entlefest to see the many Entle's in action, as they are interested in an Entle puppy. As soon as they met Hope and were told she was up for adoption, they asked for an application and basically that was the end of the story. Hope seemed made for their family. Ryan & Nancy both work from home as well as home school their two sons who want to be involved in her training. They currently have no other dogs but do have two kitty's and so far it seems she has done well with them. They were so excited when I finally said I thought Hope would fit in beautifully with their family after I interviewed them and saw that their home would be a secure environment for Hope. They had her first obedience lesson already scheduled, for that night, and are very interested in carting in the future. I feel good in knowing that Jan Vincent is nearby for any questions or concerns they may have with Hope.

Following is the most recent e-mail from the Jeffery's about Hope.  "Hope is doing better than we ever hoped! She is playful and full of energy, eating very well, and takes me on very fast walks every morning and night. She seems to be attaching herself to me especially as I spend the most time with her. She is sitting by my chair right this moment looking up at me expectantly. She loves to play tug of war and brings me her rope often. She sleeps on our bed and wakes us with excited kisses when we finally wake up. We love her so much! She's doing well with her obedience classes except for walking nicely beside me on her leash. She loves to take the lead and pull as hard as she can. I imagine she'll get more accustomed to the leash and lighten up a bit with practice. I've got several bruises on my thigh from her excited nips, but our obedience instructor has me using a squirt bottle to stop her and it seems to work well. She's a great dog for our family and we're so thankful we met you and got to keep her!"
