Trainability

Entles are very trainable provided that all members of the household are dedicated to fair and consistent enforcement of training. Due to their intelligence and strong will, they can prove to be a challenge for first time owners. Professional training from day one is strongly encouraged.

The breed is surprisingly strong for its size. As a cattle dog, they have a high pain threshold which makes rough physical correction fairly ineffective. A positive reinforcement approach to training is highly successful with this breed. If you plan to have your Entle around other dogs, early socialization will be important. Despite their small stature, they are tough little dogs perfectly willing to prove so to any worthy opponent.
