Pool time for Emmett, Sion & Jett
Bella & Addie playing with their ball
After the initial meeting and greeting, all walked down to the local beach for some beach time. Small breakers deterred some of the dogs, but not all. Those Entles not interested in the water explored the beach. Soon everyone was hungry and were ready for the BBQ.

Sion and Enya
The biggest challenge of the day was going in and out of the sun porch area where the food was kept. Entles lined up in front of the slider hoping either to get in for some food or that a human might drop their plate.

Sion, Addie, Bella and Jett were among the beggars.
After all were fed, it was time for doggie games. Sit-Stay, Food toss, and Handkerchief-Sock Race were played in a non-competitive atmosphere.

Food Toss- Gene B/Benno, Elaine W/Addie, Bill S/Mysti, & David W/Bella

Sit-Stay Gene B/Benno, Elanie W/Addie, Bill S/Mysti & David W/Bella
Sock/Handkerchief game- Karen B/Benno & Sue T/Jett -

A walk on Port Williams Beach at low tide awaited those who stay for Sunday’s activities.

Ingrid & Skye
Everyone left tired, happy, and looking forward to gathering again at the Thom’s in the summer of 2011.
Swiss Dog Day, San Francisco, CA
The Parade with two dogs from each Breed
The 13th Annual Swiss Dog Day Afternoon was once again great fun and the Entlebucher made an impressive showing. Held at Fort Mason in San Francisco, the event is an informal gathering of the Swiss Dog breeds punctuated by demonstrations, lunch and competitions.
The day began with a parade of the breeds represented: St. Bernard, Greater Swiss, Bernese, and Entlebucher Mountain Dogs (no Appenzellers in attendance this year). Entlebuchers enthusiastically participated in doggy games, rally obedience, the conformation workshop and the scent discrimination workshop.
