AKC PARENT BREED CLUB FOR THE ENTLEBUCHER MOUNTAIN DOG

Beginning January 2011, the Entlebucher was fully recognized by the American Kennel Club and placed in the Herding Group for conformation competition. Prior to that time, NEMDA had developed a Championship program to recognize owners participating in the then avaible means of conformation compition. This included venues such as International, ARBA and our own NEMDA Specialty. The NEMDA Championship program has continued and now includes Entlebuchers receiving Akc Championships as well.

A conformation show is not a beauty pageant. The judges are looking for the dog and bitch that conforms to the breed standard and is sound in structure and temperament.

Along with an AKC National Specialty Conformation Show, each year at Entlefest we include spayed and neutered Entles in a Fun Match. As many of our puppies are sold as pets, our breeders (along with the judges) use this match to have an overall look at the Entlebuchers that our breeders produce.
